Jean is a self-taught artist,
who works out of instinct, with the fabric and embellishment
dictating what the piece, a purse, clothing, or
wall hanging, will be. Her wall pieces are
usually theme-based or sewn in an improvisational manner, creating a
work in progress. The outcome is often surprising and fun for her.
Working out of a bedroom
studio, Jean resides in Williamsburg with husband, who is constantly
hopping around pins and needles and thread on the floor, a fact of life
with a fiber artist.
Jean has exhibited at Blue
Skies Gallery, This Century, Red Thread Studio, Charles H. Taylor Fine
Arts Center, and Peninsula Fine Arts Center and won many ribbons for
her work.
