Jean is a self-taught artist, who works out of instinct, with the fabric and embellishment dictating what the piece, a purse, clothing, or wall hanging, will be.  Her wall pieces are usually theme-based or sewn in an improvisational manner, creating a work in progress. The outcome is often surprising and fun for her.

Working out of a bedroom studio, Jean resides in Williamsburg with husband, who is constantly hopping around pins and needles and thread on the floor, a fact of life with a fiber artist.
