Claudia Croneberger
visited Tidewater Virginia area in 1977 and has lived here ever since. She began
creating art as soon as she could hold a crayon, but did not pursue it as
her full time career until she was in her 40’s.
Claudia’s deep love of the Earth prompted her to choose Paper Mache’ as
her medium of choice. Her paper Mache’ sculptures
are simply delightful, with a whimsy that never fails to bring a smile to
the viewer.
Claudia mixes sunshine, butterfly wings, the smell of grass after a summer
shower, and a child’s smile; adds determination and a novelist’s eye; and
creates art. But Claudia creates more than art. The creatures and
creations that inhabit her world transcend what one thinks of when one
thinks of art.

Claudia sees special
beauty and spirituality in discarded things, like cereal boxes and
newspapers. She creates beautiful sculptures while also reducing
landfill.
