Drawing and painting have been
a lifelong interest for Sharon Shacochis. She began her study of acrylic
painting when she was a student at the College of William and Mary, then continued
her growth as an artist through classes taught locally.
Wildlife, water scenes, lighthouses,
carousel horses, pet and house portraits are the subjects of many of her paintings.
Shacochis has received several
awards for her work among them first place in the Urbanna Oyster Festival Art
Competition, and her painting “On The Line” was chosen for the show print that
year. Recently, she was selected to paint the scene to be used as the
2008 show print for the Rappahannock River Waterfowl Show in White Stone,
Virginia.
Sharon Shacochis exhibits her
work regularly at shows in North Carolina and Virginia.
Commissions welcomed.
